In Fall 2016, I worked with choreographer-directors Ishmael Houston Jones and Miguel Gutierrez on restoring and reimagining the dances and music of John Bernd, an artist active in New York's Downtown performance world during the 1970s and 80s, and considered one of the first to deal directly with the crisis surrounding the AIDS virus, from which he succumbed in 1988.  I arranged and augmented Bernd's musical compositions, in the fashion of a remix.  The work, produced by Danspace Project as part of its Platform series and titled Variations on Themes from Lost and Found: Scenes from a Life and other works by John Bernd premiered in October, 2016.  The work was recognized by the New York Dance and Performance Awards with a "Bessie" for Outstanding Revival in October 2017. The work was revived at Danspace in 2023.
