Rainbow Passage is a concert- length choral composition for treble voices, vocal soloists, keyboards, woodwinds, and electronic music, performed by the composer and ensemble, featuring the live light art of Brock Monroe. A setting of a popular diagnostic text by speech scientist Grant Fairbanks—which contains every sound of the English language—its words are heard literally at first, then as movements of a thread that weave through sight and sound, into a tapestry that interprets the myth and science of rainbows beyond the realm of language.

The piece was premiered in New York at the Avant Music Festival, and then performed again, in an expanded version, at the Portland Institute of Contemporary Art's TBA festival.  Selections from the piece featured at the Public Theater in January 2014.
